C.M. Ruiz is an artist, illustrator, curator, and community organizer. He is most known for his avant-punk style of graphic design mixing photocopied imagery with psychedelic text, energetic illustration, and eye-catching layouts which have graced hundreds of posters, record covers, merch, and music-related design campaigns.
Ruiz’s street art, illustration, and photography has been commissioned and exhibited globally in places such as NYC, Istanbul, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Moscow, Havana, Tai Pei, and Guatemala City. In Seattle, Ruiz founded Nii Modo, an art gallery that focuses on emerging artists, music venue, and community space.
Clients include Meta, The New York Times, adidas, The Syfy Channel, Tate Modern Museum, OBEY, and Sub Pop Records.
Professionally, Ruiz works at a public art nonprofit installing murals and large scale art works throughout the United States.
